Yuchai (Guangxi Yuchai Machinery), founded in 1951 and headquartered in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, is a large state-owned manufacturer of power systems. With around 13,000 employees, the company has produced more than 12 million engines exported to over 180 countries and is consistently ranked among China's top 500 enterprises.
Partnership
Petronas and Yuchai
The partnership between Petronas and the Yuchai Group began in 2013, when PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) formed a joint venture with the Yuchai Group — "Yuchai PETRONAS Lubricants Co Ltd" (YCPL) — initially taking a 38% stake. In 2016 PLI acquired an additional 12% to raise its holding to 50%, making the two sides equal partners. In 2015 the joint venture established an R&D center in Nanning, combining Yuchai's advanced engine technology with Petronas's lubricant expertise to jointly develop diesel engines and their oils.
